Tres Agaves is named for the three types of 100% Blue Agave Tequila (blanco, reposado, añejo). We feature regional Mexican cuisine, primarily from the state of Jalisco. Jalisco, and its' capital city of Guadalajara, are located in the Central Highlands, also known as the birthplace of Tequila.
Wholesome, rustic dishes such as chile-spiced braised pork shoulder and chicken from the wood-fired rotisserie. Side items are included with entrees, but are served family-style in the middle of the table.
We feature hand-squeezed, fresh lime margaritas, plus many unique specialty Tequila cocktails. Examples are the La Rosa, made from Corzo Blanco Tequila, hibiscus punch, Creme De Mure & fresh squeezed lime juice served straight up or the El Besito, made from Cazadores Reposado, apricot puree & orange liquor tall & finished with Domaine Carneros.
Our collective passions have led us to place considerable emphasis on what is produced in our bar,
just like in our kitchen. Our bartenders are
some of the best, and take pride in teaching you about the world's finest
distilled spirit, 100% blue agave Tequila. And remember that we always
give you a full 2 ounce pour, and serve it in an appropriate spirits
tasting glass.
No shot glasses for good Tequila — ever.
Tres Agaves doesn't:
• Wrap everything in tortillas.
• Smother everything in cheese.
• Offer 'Combination Plate #2'.
• Serve lame drinks.
Tres Agaves is designed in a way that combines the qualities of its time
and place — a South of Market brick and timber warehouse, with
influences from the traditional architecture of the Central Highlands
of Mexico — bright colored stucco walls, stone and iron detailing,
a casual 'village square' atmosphere.
We have an intimate 26-seat private dining room we refer to as , 'the Tasting Room'. In addition a large event space, called our 'La Plaza del Agave', for 80 seated to 200 standing.
The founders are Chef Joseph Manzare (Globe, Zuppa, & Pescheria), concept developer Eric Rubin, marketing guru Barry Augus (Cabo Wabo) and business guy Dave Stanton.
Chef Joseph is a James Beard 'Rising Star' award nominee. His soulful, true-to-the-ingredients style of cooking transfers well to the food at Tres Agaves. Eric is at the restaurant daily to be customer-focused and spread the word of 100% blue agave Tequila.
Tres Agaves is located at 130 Townsend Street in San Francisco, one block north from AT&T Ballpark in the South Beach neighborhood.
Tres Agaves ... Rocks, No Salt.
