Sure, it’s pretty easy to make a good margarita from scratch. You know what’s even easier — especially when you’re having a big group over? Reaching for a store-bought margarita mix.
Premade cocktail mixes in general have a reputation for tasting artificial or overly sweet, so we were curious to see if any could compare to the homemade stuff. A tall order! Margarita mixes haven’t taken over the shelves like canned cocktails, but a quick trip (or three) to our local grocers and nearby liquor stores revealed over a dozen different kinds of margarita mixes and even more available online.
